We have planned a trip! We were able to get away to the Poconos for Labor Day weekend. Small cabin, nicely done, just to get away. Literally, just to see a different set of walls.
We cancelled and got our money back for our trip to San Jose, SF, Napa and then up to Seattle for later this month.

Cindy's mom is shifting to her 2nd treatment course next week. She's been doing well so far and we hope that stays the same. So, for week three, which is just about both Cindy and my birthdays, we are renting a house in Chincoteague, VA. Cindy wants to see the wild horses running. Went looking at AirBNB and VRBO and there were some fees and things we didn't like. We were thinking Ocean City, but can't really be in an elevator building which most are there. We wanted a water view, balcony, etc... to just look out and relax. So we went towards the South end of the park and through a normal rental agency. The house is : https://www.igetaway.net/sunrisebay.php ...We're right on Oyster Bay. Probably... nay... Definitely more than we need, but the view, the screen room, deck, etc... to just relax. There were some other great places as well, and the price differences were nominal, so who cares....

I'll probably head up towards Ocean City to play golf once or twice. We'll explore the town to the best of our ability, go into the park for the horses, probably once for the MD and VA sides and a 3rd day if Cindy liked it. We'll rent a boat for a day, and just otherwise do nothing.

Enjoy!
We were supposed to go to Chincoteague a few years ago and a hurricane was in the area, so we re-routed. We were supposed to go a few weeks ago meeting up with my sister, but the Covid situation would have required us to be tested or quarantine upon return. We didn't want to deal with that. I think you made a good choice as to staying in VA vs MD. A friend told me of a neat little town nearby. I'll find out the name for you.

I didn't even look, but for NJ, both VA and MD are both OFF the quarantine list! Whew! I doubt we'll be in contact with many people, but good to know. They are both OFF the PA list as well.

TY Lainey.

Here's a little info from a friend who used to be in that area often: Berlin, MD which is the town Assateague is in, was voted in the top10 coolest towns in US. Snow hill, about 1/2 way to Chincoteague on 113 is scenic and quaint. When are they leaving, I can ask my friends in Greenbackville for a recommendation.

Ahem! Assateague is about 5 miles or so from Berlin. Berlin is a neat little town, in fact for Spring Fling in Bethany Beach a few years ago that was our lunch stop (in the rain!)

We also looked in Berlin when we were searching. It’s an hour from us and I’m sure we'll also take a look around, thanks all!

Oh my goodness, I have researched every single town within at least 8 hours or more from us - - looking for places and reasons to go top down....
