My wife's best friend from the 8th grade lives in Edmonton, Alberta, and her family has a cabin in Pagosa Springs, CO. We are meeting them there next week for a week of hiking, ATVing, horse back riding, rafting, and anything else we can find to do.

We had our intellectually stimulating vacation last March while visiting the Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C. This time we are giving in to our outdoorsy side.

^I drove through Pagosa Springs, CO last July and it was so pretty and green. I love Colorado! If I ever move out of Cali it may be to Colorado.

My summer is not too planned yet. Next week, Monday July 2nd, through Sunday, Juy 8th, I've got plans with my '05 S2000 and my husband (who moved out 8 months ago) and his (my old) '01 S2000. We have reservations for Sonora, CA, South Lake Tahoe, CA, Mammoth Lakes, CA and our then will be at our place at Kennedy Meadows, CA. Our 23rd wedding anniversary is July 7th. A tad weird making plans to be together on it, after all the and life that we've both experienced separately in the past 8 months.

If all that goes well, I may join him (Andy) and my son, in Kauai, for some of July, while they babysit my sister's dog again, while she's in Wyoming with her husband and daughter. Again, strange that Andy is my sister's buddy, and not me.

Then August is the New Jersey meet. Vermont meet, maybe. Is that in September? For sure the Fall Colors meet in October. That's it for me.

I'm leaving here that same day for Western NY. While there visiting I'll be attending my class reunion the 13th, 14th. Will probably spend about a week out there. Looks like I'm going to miss you this trip Jerry.

This year, Anika will get her frst taste of true wilderness camping. Up in Ontario, there's a river that I've visited every year of my life, from 1 to 26, sometimes twice. Lots of waterfalls, rapids, and other portages, which keeps out the motorboats & most of the riffraff. Our canoe is the perfect way to travel this river. The fishing is usually excellent, and I know all the good spots, including some little lakes off of the river where largemouth bass practically jump into your boat.

I bought a new tent - a Sierra Designs Bedouin 4, since my other tent choices are between a 2-man Marmot and a 'sleeps 12' 3-room tent we use for campgrounds. Anika slept in it for her nap yesterday, since it's set up in the living room so we could check it out. This weekend we go to buy her a mummy bag, new paddle, and assorted other gear. She's really looking forward to it, as am I.

In late August, we've got a cottage in Sandusky Ohio, right on Lake Erie, reserved for a week with my sister and her family. This is our yearly trip to hang out, drink wine & let the kids play together. Far more relaxing than the 5 days in Moon River. My usuall vacation mantra is that you have to come back physically exhausted (remember, my job mainly mentally exhausting) or you didn't have a good vacation. Since I've hit Vintage, that's been moderated somewhat.

That's it, except for maybe Fall Colors. We're considering visiting Australia again next year, so I need to save up vacation time.

Summer basically breaks down into three trips. The first one was to my sons wedding at the foot of Mt. Hood in OR. Great trip and beautiful country. Got back two weeks ago from that one.

Anita & I leave on Friday for a drive to Minneapolis to see our daughter. I wish I was driving the "S", but a hope chest and sewing table won't fit in the trunk. So we will be driving out in the CR-V. Finally, the last week of July, we fly down to Atlanta to see our other son and the grandchildren.

After this is all over, I'll have to post some pics, but with all the travel, I just don't have much time. I still haven't posted my pics from Spring Fling!

Jonas, can I join you on the camping trip??????

We did most of our vactioning in VA. It's been too quiet at the office, so I've taken a vacation day here and there already.

We will be in NH for a long weekend with my sis in July and again in August.

We're off a week in September and on that week, we may spend time in some local areas that are too crowded to enjoy in the summer. Cape Cod, Newport, etc. Later in the week, we'll head to VT for a New England meet. Depending on the weather, we may head up there a day or two before the meet begins.

We're in on Fall Colors in VA in October.

Then it would be time to put the S to bed for the winter. I don't want to think about September and October right now.

I will be heading to Myrtle Beach in late August with my son and future daughter in law. They are planning their marriage on the beach in August of 08. Beth will be leaving for England in September with her mom. That's about it for us, because of the nature of our business summer is pretty hectic. January of 08 we will be in Cali, and Las Vegas followed by nine days in Aruba in March.

Many drives this summer, my first real summer with S2Ki. July 14th wine run. Then Connie and I are off for a driving/touring vacation in Nova Scotia, we will spend 2 days getting to Cape Breton where we will spend 4 days, then spend 2 days coming back. There are 11 driving/touring routes on the island and we plan on driving 6 or 7 of them. Then on to Rick and Lainey's BBQ and drive. August holds the Gathering in NJ, September the Green Mountain Tour in VT and then will top it all off with the Mohawk trail drive in October. Nice that the Mohawk drive caps both ends of the season.
We also hope to get up to Waterville, Maine to see Connie's mom and dad.
Wow that is a busy schedule, hope I can manage it all.
