Default Vaccines

I know a number of folks here have gotten the shingles vaccine recently, and some of us have gotten the pneumonia shot.
We are traveling to South American next month and have had to get a "few", okay a bunch of, inoculations over the past couple weeks. Most of them have been a piece of cake. Today was the last round, polio booster, and I can tell you, I now know why babies cry after they get that one. It actually hurts more than the shingles shot......End of whining. Oh, pneumonia shot, nothing really.

Galapagos, next month. The CDC recommends a number of boosters, TDAP, MMR, polio, and a few others including typhoid which is a capsule.

I wonder why they recommended the polio booster. Polio is eliminated in almost all countries, except Pakistan and 1 or 2 more. Don't recall any of them being in South America. This has been a long time project of Rotary International helped by the Gates Foundation.

Yeah, I didn't even know that a booster exists.

I'm disappointed that I didn't keep my rabies up to date.
20 years ago we had bats in the house and we all got the rabies treatment.
One of the many reasons I can't give blood.
along with transplant, blood ldl apherysis.

Rabies was one of the listed vaccines (by the CDC) as a possible. Since touching, taking, or "molesting" the animals in the wild is strictly prohibited, we skipped that one.

I agree, not sure why, but I got it anyway, as it was on the list.
