Speaking of rabies, I get my dogs the rattlesnake shots, developed at University of California Davis (my alma mater). Three times my pooches have been nailed by a rattlesnake (on one lab the distance between fang marks on the muzzle was 1 1/4") and all have survived because of the shots according to the vets.
