Valentine's (Darlene's) husband Jim
I am sad to report that Jim passed away peacefully earlier today after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. The family fortunately had some time to prepare so were able to be with him. Many of you have known Val and Jim through the Vintage forum and meets. She has been a dear friend to me for almost 20 years. There will be no formal service, but I am sure she would appreciate any thoughts you would like to express for her to read at some point. I can also give you her address via PM. Here is a poem I have posted before, but it is nice for times such as this.
DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP
Mary Elizabeth Frye (1932)
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there; I did not die.

So sorry to hear this. Darlene must be devastated. I'll send her a card. So sad. Jim was a very sweet gentleman.
Darlene, if you are reading this, our deepest sympathies to you and your family. I know you were totally devoted to Jim and he to you. Hugs.

A kinder, gentler, funnier person does not exist. Virginija, Anika and I are devastated. We spent time with them not so very long ago.
Thanks, Deb, for the news. We'll be sure to contact Darlene soon.

It was always fun to see Jim and Darlene at meets. The love they shared was a joy to see.

Val,
Please accept our deepest felt condolences. Liz and I are very sad to hear this.
You and Jim were among our earliest S2000 friends. You and Jim watched our son Adam grow up. You and Jim always had a kind word and a warm greeting for us. Jim was a gentleman and as nice a person as I've ever met. I pray that he will rest in peace.
Anytime you want to talk or need a shoulder to cry on give me a call.
Rob & Liz Alper.
