Rob -
Sounds like a nice weekend.... please add me to your list of 'interested'
There are a few 'logistical' aspects to the weekend of October 7-9 that will have to be worked out on this end. It would be a huge help to know as soon as this progresses from the "concept stage" to 'firm' so that those issues can be addressed.
In the meantime, I've pencilled it in to my own calendar

OK, I'm biting. Can you tell me the airport(s) I might use to fly in for this? ....
The airport is on the north side of town...right along I-87....and less than an hour's drive to the Lake George area Southwest now flies to Albany....so there should be some good competition

Rob, kids,
Would love to, but I can't see myself taking any more time off this year; I'm already in arrears with vacation time at the new job. I may still try to make Fall Colors down in western PA, but the odds are still less than 50%.

It's not that far of a drive. Drive in on late Friday, drive home on Sunday, no vacation time needed. Nice get-a-way for you and Karen!

Rob-
I just talked to the owner of the Still Bay Resort (something of a car buff ) and have all the details. The cost incl taxes will be $107 per nite for a double room, with a minimum of two (2) nites. I told him that a good number of folks will probably also stay over on Sunday night, since this is Columbus Day weekend.
There are also a couple of 'family' units (two rooms w/ shared bath) that would be priced higher. The Resort has 'blocked out' 16 double rooms under my name. When you are ready to 'confirm' this event, I can provide all the required info for folks to 'sign up' and reserve a room.
The Still Bay Resort will provide breakfast for Saturday and Sunday morning at no additional cost as long as our group takes 16 rooms. The owner is very enthused about our proposed event; I guided him onto this thread, which he has bookmarked
Does it get any better than this?

Way to go Lainey....don't let him off the hook
Note in my post ^^^^ that there are a couple of 'Family Rooms' also available but quick action would be required to snag one of those.
