The cancer was in an area very difficult to get to by the normal way so went to two choices Radiation or Surgery. The radiologist said no as it was too enlarged for safe Radiation, so I sit here with tubes running out of me while the healing process takes place. Fingers crossed.

Had a bone scan and CT before the operation with negative results so it seems it has not spread but the tests on the Lymph nodes will tell
Hi Bob

Veronica and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Good luck, Bob. It was soooo wonderful to get the catheter out. The first 48 hours with it was the worst part of the entire process.

Just looked at your profile, we are 2 months apart in age. I would delete your date of birth here, too much info out there for anyone to grab.

All external pluming removed now on to next step As Joanne says "paper training" but I prefer "Leak Checks" Prognosis looks good but will start Hormone therapy in a month or so followed by radiation in the new year

Bob, how's your recovery, 2 1/2 years later?

Another update, and a reminder to get your PSA checked, all you men out there.
My PSA score has reached 0.80, so my doc suggested I have a Axumin PET scan, which I did a few weeks ago. It looks for cancer cells everywhere in your body. Good news is it didn't find any in mine. I think this confirms the slow growth of cells and the very very low chance that it will spread. I doubt I will ever need radiation. Hooray!
The scan was painless, but mentally taxing holding perfectly still for 35 minutes with one break. I almost went nuts, while others go to sleep.

Did I mention all you guys need to update your PSA tests? Don't put it off.
