After working upwards of 60 hrs a week for the last few weeks Paula and I decided on the spur of the moment to take a trip. We left Friday 10/15 for the Napa Valley. We stopped and did a tour of the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield. Wine tasting Saturday in the Napa Valley. Dinner on the wine train Saturday night. Drove to Carmel on Sunday and stayed in a very nice B&B. Drove down Highway 1 Monday. I'm not sure which part of the trip I enjoyed most. The last time I drove the 1 was in a chevy van. OH what a difference in the S .......
Here are some pictures!
Yes, there is a Gyser in CA and it's in the Napa valley.
That's a trip I'd like to make someday, too. The PCH is awesome and I've never been to Napa, but I'd love to go. The Suzuka looks great with the water as its backdrop!
Nice pics!! I've been to all those places and loved every one!! Isn't that road down the coast to Carmel fabulous?? And the Jelly Belly factory is really fun. I loved the portraits of famous people made of jellybeans.

Unfortunately on Sunday it was raining in Carmel so we didn't drive the famous 17 mile drive from Monterey to Carmel past Pebble Beach. Maybe next time. Luckily the rain cleared overnight so we had a wonderful drive down Hwy 1.
Beautiful photos. I never made it up that far when I lived in SoCal, the farthest north I'd ever been was Pismo Beach (which was back in the late '60s).
That was an awsome trip. I've been trying to talk Nita into a Big Sur trip, and I think your photos may have done the trick. Nita and I have traveled that coast route many times, but never in the "S". Thanks for the photos, they bring back lots of memories.
David,
I'm so glad you posted this in Vintage! We haven't seen much of you since you joined. Do you know that Morris lives in the Napa area. His name is Dean but Morris is his S2ki name. I love your Suzuka. Matt Piercy tells me he should have one (mine!) in 2 more weeks. I'll believe it when I see it.
