I think my wife was interested in pottery class but I don't think I have what it takes to be a potter. Dr. Cloud's comment about practicality resonates with me. From practical point of view, I can't really justify any of my interest or what I want to do. My wife is gracious enough to oblige me as she knows I will come to my senses eventually. I guess we all go through several Mid-Life Crisis or is that simply an excuse or euphemism for doing the "impractical" things we wanted to do but make it sound more acceptable? Now, I wouldn't do anything like wrestling an alligator.

The S2000 was definitely my mid-life crisis car. I got the '01 Silverstone when I was 43 and it pulled me out of crisis. Now, all I have to do is go for a long drive in it, or fly across the country to play with my friends, that I met because of it, to keep out of crisis mode.

I took up stained glass making a few years ago, and still intend to finish the project I started over a year ago. I just don't have as much time now that I get on this site too often.

I tried parachuting once when I was in my early twenties. Wasn't exactly what I wanted. I've always wanted to hang glide but I don't think that I ever will.

Where to start:

1. buying the S - really it was my wife's idea - she wanted a convertible

2. Starting getting into the horse thing about two years ago - an addiction worse than cocaine or heroin. Completely changed our lifestyle from upper middle class suburbanite to where we now want to buy some land and move our horses onto the property.

John, Acton is a horse town. One of the things we've seen happen is that people get into horses and spend all their time and $$ on them and their homes get neglected. Not that you would do that, just saying it happens around here.

Yo, Big Mouth, thanks, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one trying to rob the cradle.

I don't know, I seem to be working more than ever before. I used to have time for other interests, but now I seem to be working all of the time. I guess I'm going in the opposite direction of everyone else.

And that's not a good thing. Time to at least start rethinking a few things, lil' Bro. And in light of recent events, THAT'S AN ORDER! Humph! your big sis.
