We had a really nice time yesterday. Started the day in the mid-50s top down with a 2-hour drive to meet up at a park with other British car folks. The day just keep getting warmer and nicer, with no shortage of food and drink. It was a day those who live in warm climates take for granted, but no us, and after an enjoyable dinner we drove partway home in the mid-70s, made another stop at a pub that overlooked a lake and then called it a day and headed home. Watched some taped hockey later in the evening. And, it really was a Saturday!

Spent today pulling the rear brake drums on the MG since I didn't like how the parking brake was working yesterday. All is well now. Modern cars have dual master brake cylinders but not ours; we don't so if a brake line were to fail the only fall back plan is a hand brake - I use it all the time just to be sure it's working properly. Buying a air staple gun Monday for the seat rebulds this coming week. I will be undoing and redoing the seat rebuilds I did back in 1998 to replace the sagging seat foams and back rests.

Sounds like the perfect day Dave. Got washed out here for cars and coffee up in the berkshires Sunday morning so just ran some errands and did some excersizing on Sunday. Saturday brought the Subaru in for state inspection and to have the tires changed over from winters to summers. I gotta say I have been amazed at how good this Subaru dealer has been everything has been A plus and I can be a real p.i.t.a. when it comes to my cars.

So far this weekend we have a Nats game on Sun. They have been up and down, but the stadium experience is nice regardless.

Presented the colors for the Blessing of the Bikes in Dayton, OH this weekend. We got out of there before the liquid sunshine erupted.

We are staying home Memorial day weekend. The beach traffic will be insane. We live here and belong to a beach club. Swimming in the bay, pool, food and music. 5 minutes away which is as far as we go on holiday weekends.

Also the final Rolling Thunder here in DC this weekend. Very sad to see it end after more than 30 years. Kinda like watching all the motorcycles roar by all weekend.

Yeah we avoid a lot of holiday stuff on holidays if we can for that reason. SCCA Solo Spring Nationals and Nationals are our Memorial day and Labor day things. Trying to camp or do outdoor stuff near water on those days is just crazy as everything is overcrowded and too much is going on to relax and enjoy yourself.

Why is it ending?
