Now that we have www.ancestry.com, we don't need a tombstone to "live" forever in the virtual world. As for me, my daughter (a hospice chaplain) knows that my ashes will be split between the Conewago Creek at our cottage and another meaningful place.

This thread has me thinking that perhaps the rest shall just be scattered in a small church cemetery near Indiantown Gap PA would be nice; my grandfather who fought in the Civil War is buried there...along with other family members. With a daughter who is an ordained minister, I don't have to worry about who will conduct the service; she has done at least a hundred of them and is only 41.

Related topic: I have two high school friends who have already WRITTEN their memorial program: contents, leader, music and/or poetry, and other details! One is a "foodie" who even outlines what should be served in the celebration afterwards. He has also earmarked a dollar amount in his will to pay the tab (hope that he has an inflation factor built in) The other friend is a poet who undoubtedly has outlined which of her poems should be read...in a particular order

He tried mightily,
Failed regularly,
Continued passionately,
And stood for what he believed.

Yep, she did. And I have the pics of her after having them. I'd post it but the obscene gesture might be censored.
