Hope your ride goes well, Marty...that is impressive!

Headed out to a Mid-A BBQ at Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane, VA later this morning. Should be about 40 cars and 80 peeps! Then going to meet the +1 and his son at my parents' house - they are driving down from NJ today. Son leaves tomorrow to return to FL.

I will be making my first ascent for 2008 up the Blue Ridge Escarpment on two wheel (plus pedals) -- 35 miles (no sweat) from Tigerville, SC to Saluda, NC and back, but the 2500' of climbing has me in need of moral support. Oh to be back in riding shape!

I just got a charlie horse looking at that.

Well, in the interest of full disclosure --- I just ran out of steam and my legs turned to Jello about 2/3 of the way up. I turned around at the 1750' level -- 11 miles. The descent from there was worth the pain going up. Gorgeous day.

I spent the morning working on the yard .....cutting grass (still green here, Patty ), edging at the sidewalk, pulling out some damned filmy overlay "weed" that likes to cover our pachysandra beds

I barely dragged my a$$ back into the house for lunch....then watched the women's volleyball (US v Holland) at the Olympics Now, I'm sorta refreshed an will hit the 3 pm "adult swim" at the local pool to do my 40-50 laps

Hey, that comment just reminded me of your knee surgery during the Tour. How is the healing doing?

I never pay attention to that kind of stuff. The thread seems to load quickly enough, but I started the thread, so I can close it and start a new one!

Here's a link to the new one!
