What are you doing for yourself
I know Lainey's into zumba and Kyras stays in shape using her elliptical. I don't consider myself "fat" anymore, so I'm not wanting to continue posting on LB's I'm Fat thread. I'm now just plump but I've gotten in much better shape by mindful eating and lots of exercise. I walk every morning with my dog, Sally. We walk after her breakfast and before mine. After breakfast I catch up on the news and then before beginning my day, I get on my stationary bike. I'm now up to riding it an hour a day. I ride at least 30-45 minutes in the morning and generally get in another 30 before dinnertime. I've starting using 2 three pound dumbbells to do upper body strengthening and am up to two sets of 20 reps and I also do 20 squats to assist with balance. I spend about an hour and half every day in exercise. I now enjoy what I'm doing and feel I'm doing this for ME. We spend our lives doing things for our families and other people, but this I am doing for no one but me. I feel good about it and I feel better about me. So, what are you doing for YOU?
PS: My exercise is no longer just about the weight. Its about feeling good.

Lift weights 2x/week, according to the principles outlined in "Starting Strength" by Mark Rippetoe.
Paleo-ish fairly low carb, natural foods diet. I'm not scared of animal derived fats. We have a freezer full of grass fed beef (1/2 of an animal) that we buy every year. We don't eat anything out of boxes, and we eat very, very little wheat or other gluten.
So far it's working. Looking around, I'd say I'm in better shape/health than most of the guys I see at work who are 20 years younger.

I walk by this at least twice, sometimes three a week which should be enough to get me fit but it's rumored that you actually have to USE the equipment to derive any benefit from it.

I do climb on the stationary bike occasionally. Mostly for flexibility while the knee heals.
With a little luck I'll be able to actually start in a much more aggressive fashion after I get off these stupid antibiotics.
There was a point in time ~10 years ago when I'd spend 2-3 hours a day down there.

As Val, mentioned, I'm really into Zumba. I average four classes/week. I also grab about 3/4 of the class before Zumba. Some light weights, some kicking, some cardio and some of it while standing on one foot. Balance is not as easy as one may think.
The Y really is my happy place and I love my time there. I will be
if I need to change it up for other obligations, as what I do there is for me, and I feel really good when I leave there.........until the stiffness sets in.

Congratulations to all the exercisers. Sorry about the misstatement, Patty. I knew it was a elliptigo.
I'd glad to see many of you are working out. I know it has really helped me sleep better and has helped some of my pain issues immensely. I cannot say it has eliminated all my problems and I still have a long way to go to lose the middle girth.
