What are you reading?
I did a quick search for a topic such as this, but didn't find it. Even though I think there may have been a thread out there, I'll start a new one.
What are you reading these days? I usually read fiction, murder mysteries, crime novels, lawyer stuff a la John Grisham, and yes, on occasion, the trashy romance novel. I read for enjoyment and entertainment. Recently I read "Killer Angels" to get a better idea of what happened at Gettysburg.
While it was not my usual choice of topic for a book, I really enjoyed it. Deb's +1, Vitto suggested that if I liked "Killer Angels" I'd enjoy "Gods and Generals" written by the son of the author of "Killer Angels"
He was right. I picked up the book Saturday, and did quite a bit of reading yesterday and will be doing more at lunch today.

I haven't been reading much in the past two months, although normally I read every night before bed, to get me drowzy. I have been working on some little book my son gave me that he had to read for a class. The Awakening, it's called. It's very short but it's taking me forever.

Alas, I haven't had time to even finish reading Sunday's edition of the local newspaper.

Ours is covered now. More time to read.
I just finished "The Kite Runner" By Khaled Hosseini. It's a great book that will keep you engaged long after you're done reading it. It's a story about the personal transformation of a young man and the cultural transformation of his country, Afganistan, as it's ripped apart by war. It's a timely topic that will broaden your perspective of a part of the world that we are deeply invested in. I'd highly recommend it.
Trending Topics
I'm about 1/2 way through Grisham's "The Last Juror."
I'm also a huge Peter Egan fan. If you don't know him, he writes for "Road and Track" and "Cycle World." His articles are available through Amazon as collected works called "Side Glances" for the automotive articles, and "Leanings" for the motorcycle articles.
Any vintage person into cars, motorcycles and/or the American road trip would enjoy Egan's work. Plus, being short magazine articles, they make for easy reads.
