But yeah, we loved using radiation for everything until people started dying from it!

I got fitted for my flag flyers by xray around 1957. You weren't cool unless you had them. I'm still around.

After I sold my environmental services firm to Jacobs Engineering in 1981, I had to stay on as an employee for five years in order to get all my money out of the deal. We had a big contract with the Department of Energy to do UMTRAP (Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Program). People in the Southwest, particularly New Mexico, were using radon-contaminated soil from uranium mining tailings as building materials to build houses. Very scary. Native Americans were particularly impacted.
