I bypassed the flipper and bought an electronic feeder that gives the squirrels a bit of a zap. They never come back and only one battery was needed. 
I assume the one who got zapped told his buddies.

Apparently a new range and overhead microwave. Not what I really wanted but the range has gone FUBAR and we were planning to change from white to stainless steel anyway after the recent refrigerator purchase. They'll be delivered and installed Friday. Then all that's left is the almost new white Bosch dishwasher.
