Has this been discussed before? I don't recall any previous threads on the topic, but then again there is plenty I don't recall these days.

Anyway, Terri Guillemets, mistress of the pithy quote, sums up my own feelings nicely:

A day without a nap
is like a cupcake
without frosting.

What's your take?

I've taken a lot in the past few months because my nights have become so restless. I prefer not to but it seems I'm left no choice.

Personally I'm a big fan of the nap. My body always calls for one in the afternoon if I'm working I take one when I get home early evening if not than I take one in the afternoon. Don't think it has been discussed here before.

I could go for a nap right now but I'm having a coffee instead.

I rarely take naps nowdays but before I quit putting Bailey's in my morning coffee and eating cookies for breakfast, I always took naps. Once the sugar was out of my system I crashed. I don't have any form of sugar until 5 PM-ish. It was an eye opener for me to learn how sweets affect me. Now I can drive for hours at a time without being afraid I'll fall asleep. It used to be I'd eat candy or some kind of sugar to try to stay awake but it was counteractive.

Down here lots of people drink Coke with breakfast, often with a splash or two of bourbon.

Diet Coke is my AM caffeine, but no bourbon! I am not a napper unless I'm sick. If I nap, it's a crawl in bed, under the cover, serious nap. It doesn't happen often. The other night I slept terribly and was so very tired I thought of taking a nap, but toughed it out. Rick is a big fan of the nap. Sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes after dinner.
