IMHO Traveling to Hawaii really needs to be 2 weeks to make it worthwhile.
You spend two or three days just trying to get onto the local timezone.

CONGRATS

My wife and I each have different places we would like to see, so it would be a nice little fight. Good luck on picking a place/places to go.

Zippy, we have both seen enough of Earls Court, though we have never been there for the beer.

I'll add Ireland to the list of idea's but not for St. Patrick's day. We are Protestant so I think we might get in some trouble on that day in Dublin.

Today we gave a thumbs down to going on Safari and thought that Cuba would be too poor but we could get our teeth fixed really cheap.

I would recommend a little town on the Costa Tropical called Salobrena. It isn't as touristy as the other towns near it, has a beautiful beach, great restaurants, and friendly people. A house rental on the Mount of Almonds overlooking the Med is a bargain with views of the fortified old town, the mountains and the sea. About an hour SE of Granada and 45 minutes East of Malaga. My family and I loved it!

This is the house we stayed in. Biggest picture windo I have ever seen in my life. No idea how they got that sheet of glass up that twisty road!

Come to Charleston and as a side trip, visit the Valentines (about 60 - 70 miles north). Lots of history, beautiful harbor and tons of realllllly tasty food.

Charleston, SC

That's the plan for us in Mar, as you know. Already have a long list of restaurants.

So many great suggestions.

If you want a road trip, you have many options.

We spent our 25th anniversary on the road heading to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. The scenery was spectacular, especially when you are in a convertible.

Here are some of the pics.

Nova Scotia

The suggestion to head to tropical islands also sound real good to me. A little more restful and relaxing that a lot of driving from place to place.

Congrats on the 40th!

That's a good month for a trip to Alaska. You can fly in, tour the state, then take the cruise down the coast back to the USA.

We celebrated 40 back in August 2010, and our trip to London + Egypt was our "present to ourself". Egypt in August in 120* temps would not have been too fun...

....On the other hand if you both want to be really pampered and experience service that is unlike anything we have ever experienced before I would highly recommend a cruise on the
Yachts of Seabourn It will be a cruise that you will NEVER forget.
I like the 60 day world cruise , which is on sale for only $23k each
