Early morning today. Tough time sleeping. The +1 complained Tuesday about some pressure in her chest and shortness of breath when walking. She called her cardiologist and after a long talk they decided to come in Wednesday morning first thing.
Talked to the Dr and the decision was go to the ER. We have a hospital (Hopewell) a few minutes from our house and other choices as well. There's a St Francis Medical center in Trenton with a Cardiac center, about 15 minutes away.
The Dr office said they tried to call us (neither cell nor home phone rang) to tell us to go to Trenton, but apparently really didn't, so we went to the local hospital, where her regular Cardiologist was at currently on rounds. A visit there and the decision to go for a cardiac catheterization vs. a stress test. He said he wouldn't trust the stress test results so why do it - go right to a visual.
So we waited for a transport to the other hospital and finally around 4 PM! The Hopewell hospital does c.c. for diagnostics but aren't set up for any real cardiac work. St Francis is. 6 PM she goes in. Good news, no blockages. Admitted overnight due to the timing of the tests. This morning, an echo/ultrasound to make sure nothing else is going on. The cardiac specialist who does the tests expects that to be negative as well, which leads to high blood pressure and some likely lifestyle/health changes.
So, I finally got home around 9 last night, caught up on my world, and was up by 4 AM.
So, good morning!
