Who would you have picked to replace Katie Couric?
I am happy for Katie Couric with her new role as CBS Evening News Anchor. As her replacement, I would have chosen Lauren Green from FOX. Who would you have picked?

I don't watch much television news, so I'm not familiar with most of the talking heads. If we're talking strictly females, my vote would go to Christiane Amanpour. She seems to be the closest to being the genuine reporter of the lot and probably the gutsiest.

I like Ann Curry. She seems warm and genuine, but serious enough to report the news as well. I don't mind listening to her while I eat my Cheerios. Campbell Brown is OK, but almost reminds me of a giggly school girl. I don't think she's "seasoned" enough, even though these AM news/talk shows are mostly "fluff."
Meredith Viera has an extensive background in TV news (stared over in Providence RI, on one of our local chanels). She's doing the talk show gig with "The View." I think she'll do OK as Katie's replacement.

Christiane Amanpour has the actual field experience to temper her reporting, and the intelligence to be critical and truthful. In her you see little or no spin.
