Darlene was also sick, so it probably would not have worked out.

Winchester was the long way around from SC to Mass but if you wanted to avoid DC you choose wisely.

It's hard to visit everyone you know in an area while traveling/vacation. Heck I can't even see those in my immediate area .. Matt, Ken, Deb .... hi!

^ I think the last time I saw you was on one of those NOVA drives in the distant past. Not much of a Mid-A forum anymore, unfortunately.

Yes, we exchanged messages and she told me she had not felt well. Between us leaving a bit early and her not feeling well, a visit wasn't meant to be this time around. Hopefully she is feeling better now.

We do all we can to avoid 95 and DC. On the way down we stayed in Dover DE and took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge over. That route is still about an hour or so longer than the direct route by 95, but that's OK. The route home was even a bit longer, but it was pleasant enough. Route 29 in NC was a nice ride. I had to find hotel rooms at the last minute and the route through Winchester VA fit into the "how long do we want to drive on a Friday, and where should we stop?" thought process.
