We are already off the road, washed and polished. My last job to do today is to treat all the seals and then the cover goes on, Of course we have 80 degree weather today, the sun is shining and the roads are dry. Michigan, it never knows what it is doing.
You missed a great day of driving. I was out blowing leaves - as many as I could find - with the S2000. The colors are at the best so far, as the reds are finally coming out (not as good as years past but......).

We're back from VA. Rick plans on having the oil and fluids changed in the car in the next few days. The cover will likely go on after that. IF we get a nice day, the cover comes off and off we go.

Long ago I had my hand in the creation of this list, and because of that I want to go on record as changing my mind on the mothballs thing inside the cabin. Although I'm happy my CRX-SiR no longer smells like a dead mouse on those really hot & humid summer days, I'm not sure if the eye watering smell of mothballs is better...
I would like to add I have found a new secret formula for mice control, one that I can really live with on the inside of the car.

100% Pure Essential Peppermint Oil
Take something like a tuna can, place a cotten ball inside the can and add a few drops of the oil to the cotten ball. Place the can on the floor in the car and close the car doors and windows. Not only will this keep out the mice, but come spring you are left with a smell you can live with.

In addition, I have found something better than mouse traps outside of the car.

These bait blocks have a hole through them. You actually put a nail down the hole and then nail the bait block to a piece of wood and put it close to a wall where they typically run. I really like these blocks over other forms of poison because they cannot take some and carry it off to their nest. They have to sit there and eat it on the spot. This spring when I cleaned the garage I found lots of wasted poison that had been carried off, and then never eaten.

Good idea, Doug. I can't stand the smell of mothballs. Ever notice, sometimes in the early part of winter, old people smell like mothballs? That's because they just took their winter coats out of a storage area/closet that had mothballs.

Just let one of those big you have patrol your garage from time to time. That should take care of the mice. The mouse will do one of these when he crosses paths with your cats.

I would love that, but as the cats are house cats only, I would hate to put them out in the garage, plus, my cats all have all of their claws, and I suspect, if something were to go wrong it would, and I would have a slashed top or giant scratch marks after they tried to jump up on the Zaino covered car, and started to slide off...

BTW- The peppermint oil really works great, ya can't use the simple stuff like food flavoring, it has to be the super concentrated kind.

Peppermint oil is a major eye irritant so please be very careful using it. Wash your hands throughly after use. The oil is used in my industry and I got a little bit in my eye. I ended up in the ER where they irrigated my eye for four hours!

^ Point well made, thanks! Basically I treat it like I would poison. I use a disposable pipet to pull a few drops out and put them onto a cotten ball, then the cotten ball goes into a clean cat food can which is then set on a piece of cardboard and placed on the floor.

Sorry to hear about your 4-hour eye flush, that sounds like it must have been a bit like torture.
