Winter Storage Tips
Levi
Going off topic.... but that is one HUGE cat!
We store our S outside. Make sure you have a cover that is rated for outdoor use, and that the cover and the car are clean before storing.
Put some gas in it, store it after a fresh oil change. Some folks over inflate the tires and disconnect/remove the battery, my +1 has never bothered with that. You can also put some of the shinitsu (spelling?) lubricant on the door seals.
If mice chewing on wires is a potential problem, there are precautions you can take for that as well.
Doug in NY puts small cans in the car with cotton balls moistened with peppermint oil and swears by that as a deterrent.
Some folks REALLY fuss before storage, we are not in the really fussy category.
Our car has been stored outside for seven seasons and still looks great. When +1 removes the cover in the spring, we are amazed at how good the car looks.

Can't believe it looks like mine will be coming off the road this week as there is salt all over the roads in my area. I was thinking today it could be 6 months before I drive my S again. I haven't pulled the insurance yet I'm in denial but I know I'm going to end up taking her off the road this week
I just put my car on jacks to give the suspension a break. Why do some people say this is bad?
My insurance company (Gieco) says I can drive the car to keep it running, but won't say how many miles this is exactly. Through the 'garaged' months I pay my full policy but get 70% back as a credit towards future months when it gets back on the road.
If the weather holds I'm thinking of taking her out every 2-3 weeks for a nice spin. Thoughts?
