Lainey, I saw that thread on the Upstate forum, and thought the pictures were great! They are color pictures of the "Home Front" workers and scenes during the War.

(You might want to add an "I" to your thread title, though!)

I can't believe the clarity. The pics practically jump out at you!

Oh thanks for the little message. Thread title edited.

Lainey, really weird that you would post this. My dad before he passed away 20 years ago gave me a pistol that he took from a German POW in Coblenz Germany. He said he was there for three months from August through October. Last week i had some time on my hands so I started searching for Coblenz Germany WW II. After about two hours I found a site that had four short movie reels, one was the artillery used (my dad was a Lieutenant in the Artillery) in capturing the city. One was surrendering soldiers in the city the other two were just action reels from that time all in September 1945. No my dad wasn't in either one but it was so strange to think he could have been standing right next to the photographer. I've watched them over and over bringing back great memories of this very brave soldier.

Neat stuff, I've seen them before. It kills me that there aren't more in color from that era.
