I too agree with Jim on his observations...

I like to see gone:
Pitchers
#27 Kevin Brown
#45 Felix Heredia
#33 Javier Vazquez

Infielders
#29 Tony Clark
Jason Giambi

I am sure there will be some major changes coming down. I just hope the Yankees organization take the change as a positive and kick some a$$ next year.

Players I'd like to see added:
Fielders
C Beltran
A Pujols
Doug Mientkiewicz

Pitchers
J Nathan MIN
A Benitez FLA
A Otsuka SD
B Lidge HOU

I can dream can't I!!!

[QUOTE=Legal Bill,Oct 22 2004, 03:47 PM] I would be surprised if Lofton was gone.

Interesting comment from the NY Post's Joel Sherman about A-Rod: "He is the guy who fled Seattle and the Mariners got better, forced his way out of Texas and the Rangers improved, and joined the Yankees and the Curse ended!"

I don't want Pedro, I don't like him and he burns up the bullpen. I hope he stays with the Sox.
As a strategy descision, I think you are right. As a pride descision, I can see Steinbrenner going right after him. Pedro will want big money to re-sign. I think the Sox would like to keep him, but I bet they won't meet his monetary demands. Therefore, the door is open for George to steal one of our two Cy Young award winning pitchers to poke a stick in the eye of Boston during the off season. There has been talk of trying to convert his role to middle relief or closer as he gets older, but I think that is more talk than anything else.

He's the best all-around player in the game today. But you can't build a team around a single player.

The Mariners got better despite A-Rod leaving, not because of it. The Rangers got better because they got rid of A-Rod's contract, not because they got rid of A-Rod.
