Year and miles
... my 07 S now has 85,000+ miles on the tach. I drive it about 14,000 to about 17,000 miles per year. I know the car will not last forever, but the engine is still like new and the car is well maintained. Where I live the car can be driven 12 months of the year, and I like to drive the car, -- both in the twisties and on the open highway. It has been on both coasts a few times and has logged many miles between CO and TX. OEM power was quite adequate, but I like the added oomph from the Rotrex supercharger , especially at the track! I do a lot of my own wrenching on the car, so I appreciate the user friendly nature of the Honda design. I have owned Acura Legends and Honda Accords -- but also BMWs; and for me the S is more like a rwd BMW than like a fwd Honda. I keep thinking that the FR-S/BRZ will challenge Honda to reenter the S2000 level market and give us another ten years of fun, but- well - dream on ...
On August 12, 2012 my 2002 S2000 will celebrate its 10th birthday. I am the original owner. I currently have 34,236 miles on it for a monthly average of 287.69 miles and a yearly average of 3452.36 miles.

In the 9 years and 11 months that I've owned the car so far, I've used 1,509.24 gallons of gas for an average miles per gallon of 22.684. The worst tankful was at Fall Colors 2003, 17.07 mpg, and the best was coming home from the Ohio Vintage Meet (now the Tomcatt) in 2004 for a tankful at 31.35 mpg. To date I've spent $3,794.11 on gas.
Over the years I've changed the oil and filter approximately 30 times, the transmission fluid and differential oil 4 times.
I've washed the car approximately 30 times and waxed it approximately 22 times.
It's only been in the rain 3 times. It still has the original windshild washer fluid.
It's Sebring Silver which is still the fastest color.
15 years from now, on the car's 25th birthday I intend to show it at Pebble Beach in the Production Class. I expect to win and expect all of you to be there to cheer me on.
