Default You cannot sing low

This guy can. I feel somewhat less manly after hearing this.

Note: You'll need good speakers.

Apparently his lowest note (G-7, nearly 8 octaves below a piano) is infrasonic and can only be heard by elephants and scientific instruments. His standard vocal range is 10 octaves, G-5 to G5.

Btw, G-7 is 0.189Hz, or less than 1 vocal cord oscillation every 5 seconds. This has caused some to question if the test is even valid at that point.

For the musos, here's G-7:

I guess he can feel it, but it does make me wonder if he stands in front of the mic, making all the right chest movements, then asking "Am I doing it?"

I suspect he isn't using the typical voice mic either.

His regular mic is an AKG C535EB, not sure what he's using in the clip.

I came across him because my 15yo is developing into a very good bass singer and he's starting to get down to the 50Hz level, which is around the third G below a middle C on a piano (i.e. G1). Funny to think 2 years ago he was a soprano who could out-range all the girls in his school.

I am REALLY IMPRESSED with your knowledge of music. I admire that talent that I do not have. I was tempted to post an E-mail that I sent to some other friends after watching the original YouTube in this thread that caused an E-mail thread. But, I decided not to bore my Vintage friends.
