Check your wheaties. Apparently some of Kellogg's mini-wheats are being recalled due to metal fragments. I had a HUGE 30oz box because +1 loves them. I checked the UPC code and it is subject to recall. Read the press release here: WSJ Kelloggs recall

Just pour them over a magnet..... that will take care of the problem!

Having been an engineer for a consumer products company, all our production was run through metal detection equipment before final packaging. This equipment was checked before every shift for effectiveness. I am surprised that a company as large as Kellogg's had this happen, as I am sure that they have the same GMP's* in place.

Thank you Val. My wife bought a box of the frosted mini wheats today and although it was not the UPC code listed it was manufactured between April and Sept. (August) and they will be returned tomorrow rather than take a risk.

Don't blame you at all. I wouldn't risk it. I tried calling Kellogg's 800 # yesterday, but got a busy signal. I'm not surprised. I'm taking mine back to the grocer today. I was in another grocery store yesterday and they've pulled ALL the miniwheats off the shelves. We'll be eating cheerios or another favorite, honey bunches of oats with almonds.
