Are you optimistic for 2009
I'm feeling better about work a least, for the moment. We were so busy last week at the shop that Brian (owner) had to leave the office to replace batteries in a couple cars
I got to help which was pretty exciting
I have a few web site projects going at the moment, plus just spoke with a woman yesterday who is about 95% ready to go on a new one.
Other things I am not so optimistic about. And I miss my car. It was a reasonably good substitute/distraction for other happiness missing from my life. It's only been 6 weeks stored now, looking at another 2+ months
I look all my pictures but it's like it's not real anymore.

I simply do not think about it. Every day I'm optimistic about that day. I do not concern myself about how a year will go or not go. I just take it as it comes and hope for the best. That's what I call optimism. We could drive ourselves insane worrying over things and I choose to simply enjoy every day the best I can, do what I need to do to deal with circumstances as they come and not worry about that which I cannot control.

Our happiness should not depend on outside factors. Life happens all around us, all the time. People die, jobs are lost, babies are born, relationships end, relationships start, the lawn looks great, the lawn looks like crap. If we spend our lives riding emotional roller coasters that are driven by forces outside our control then we are in for a rough ride. And yes, I am speaking from experience.
