Thumbs up Your fav car mag is...

I subscribe to AutoWeek and Automobile, but a friend just gave me the current issue of R&T and Car and Driver. Skimming thru these additional mags, I saw the same new model stuff over and over...making me wonder who READS all this stuff every month?

If you have a clear REASON, please post on WHY you voted for one or another

I'm also interested in your favorite features: Editorial items, Mailbox, Road tests and/or comparos, Update on current mag's stable of driver cars, Stealth photos and future predictions, Upcoming Auto Shows, Tech Talk, Racing features ?????

I subscribe to and enjoy Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine.

I really liked the Audi special with my AutoWeek subscription but I don't plan to renew AW. Frankly I only have passing interest in $200 cars, like the $200 Ferrari 458 Italia and the $200 SLS AMG.

Except for special interest magazines, I think auto magazines are dead.

Free internet shows like Autoline Detroit give you the news while it's still HOT and do a great job.

I subscribe to R&T, and I really enjoy Peter Egan's monthly column. I also have a (free) subscription to C&D, but I find they duplicate a lot of R&T's stuff. Therefore, I wouldn't pay for C&D.

I get too da*n many magazines.

CAR magazine from England, C/D, R&T, Automobile. I also get SportsCar as a member of the SCCA. I get Winding Road also via online subscription.

I dropped the subscriptions to everything that I was not reading. I still get SportsCar, POCA, POCA Profiles, Reader's Digest, & Roundel. Roundel gets passed along to the son-in-law without being opened.

Online I read s2ki,

I currently get Automobile and Car and Driver, and maybe motor trend.

somehow I got a professionals subscriber list and pay about $10 a year for them.
If they go above that it's not worth it. I can't imagine paying cover price or even close to it.
basically it's for pretty pictures and short stories while in the, ehrh, library.

Altho I haven't renewed the AutoWeek subscription, I do enjoy a mag that can be ready and enjoyed in one sitting....maybe an hour +/ --

I renewed Automobile for 2 years; enjoy some of their funky special stories....like a road trip, visit to the Ferrari factory, etc I also enjoy articles by Robt Cumberford (sp?), their design guy. OTOH, I think to my self...."how does he find those 'style lines that trace a theme' from front bumper to the rear exhaust

Besides the ones that I listed, I also get a hand-me-down copy of Hemmings "Classic Car" mag from my bro. I enjoy that most of all the mags....amazed at folks like Legal Bill and dlq04, who can take a car apart and actually put it back together again

EVO, Car, Top Gear, Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car, Autocar - all but the Hemmings mag are read at Barnes & Noble as I never feel like paying $8-10 for a copy.

I subscribe to Car & Driver, Automobile, Motor Trend and Road & Track. Why all four? Because i got deals like $5 or $6 for 3-year subscriptions, and did that multiple times many years ago. I think they all run out next year.

Auto Week (oxymoron since they went to once every other week) is my favorite, but I also get Car & Driver and Motor Trend.
