Driving a car to it's top speed no longer holds much interest for me. When I was young I drove a new XK-E in Europe at it's limits, about 160 mph as I recall, for miles and miles and miles. If I lived in the Dakota's or some place like that, I'd probably streach out the legs on the S2000 to see how handled at it's limits. I know I had my test drive car, a used S2000, to 120 or so because my wife was scolding me for driving someone else's car that fast. Funny, she says the same thing now that I own one. Bottom line, I quess I'm wiser * because I think about tickets, insurance rates, concern over hurting innocent people, etc and have resisted pushing it's limits.

* however, I'm still just a stupid kid at heart because I did drag someone just today... impulse thing..... when a big block kept reving it up beside me. He more than got the jump but then I said what-the-hell and I beat him to the next light. Afterwards, I felt stupid and reminded myself to save it for the "track"; which hopefully will be next week.

US High: Maybe a touch over 120 MPH in my S2000. On a clear stretch of the Peeay Turnpike last year.

Euro: On May 23, I drove the rented Renault Scenic for a long time at 110 mph on the Autobahn between Berlin and Weimar

Local: On our LWG drive on Sunday in Chester County, most of the 9 of us pegged 100 mph for a minute or two on a good 4 lane road.
