and the classic

I had the pleasure of getting an autograph of Shigeru Uehara on my dash board. Can someone tell in specifically, in detail, what to use, to protect this?

Is there is clear coat of some sort, that will not make this faded?

All your help is appreciated

hey bc- very funny i have already been asking around for exactly the same reason as you (except that he didnt sign mine- but i watched him sign several)...
especially a problem in a covert-
normally we would use a protectant to keep out the uv
however, most protectants would not be good on the signature.
have been thinking that some sorta protective plexi or other covering over it... but have not figured out how to do this to look good

freq wants you to post up pics of your clean car so i can badge you...!!

How would lacquer affect the dash? The shine would suck, but that's at least the standard artist's way to preserve something like that. I wouldn't know what else.

mike (bc)- i saw about 5 dash signings... he did not get anywhere near my car or mine would have been one too!

grefnm369- dont think lacquer on vinyl would work too well. not sure, but i think that the lacquer might melt the vinyl.

we might need to get a piece of vinyl and experiment on it...

i was thinking maybe some sorta plexiglass cover- but how to mount it if that is the solution? best to mount without damage to the dash (no screws)

What about a Vinyl Detailer? Such as an engine one.... Such as C2D or w/e it is... would that would??

You could always just cover it with Cellophane

jaeden09- my thought is that i wouldnt want to take any chance with possibly losing any of the sig. just dont know for sure that a vinyl protectant wouldnt harm the white sig.
your cellophane idea is prob on the right track...
and type-j same thing- clear bra film might work... that might be a bit too thick though.
i assume that you would just cover around the signature? and where to stop? how do you "edge" it?

maybe some sorta frame?? how do you mount it into the vinyl?
