You have to take into account that the vinyl dash outgasses so I would try static cling window tint that you would use on the softtop plastic window, which also outgasses.

Good meeting you mike and gl on this issue

A velcro strip above and below the sig and then a seperate piece of vinyl to cover it. You could even cut a little window in the vinyl piece and but a dark shade of plastic in it.
The problem is the adhesive. It will probably permanently stain the dash. However if this is going to be permanent, who cares.

the adhesive can be removed if it needs to be... and i agree that any stain should not matter. the idea is to make the sig a permanent part of the car.

i like this idea. the velcro can then be covered by a "frame" of some sort of material to really make the signature stand out-
this both preserves and improves the look (assuming a proper frame can be found)

3M clear bra material might be a solution. I'm sure they'd have some insight as to how to protect the signature if you contact them.

i had my guitar signed, and then i had it clear coated over, protected it great. doesnt damange the marker. depending on how detailed you are, you can pull your dash and get the whole thing cleared, or you can mark it off with masking tape, and news paper the rest, and clear the area, it will be fine.
