303 Interior use - yay!
That makes sense there - thanks for the link. I'll try it out, but I'm not optimistic about it holding

My only complaint is that the shift book doesn't quite stay up on it all the way (and the knob itself doesn't go down further, due to the widening of the shift lever). I like it.

Loctite- the blue goop - does it. The knob WILL come off but you need to work it.
The knob itself doesn't move if you've bolted it down to the lever nice and tight (via 3 set screws), but some loctite would be good in those three screws to keep them from loosening up with vibration (it's happened when I didn't have them nice and tight).
well, I'll be... There's already a tie wrap in there from the factory and the boot is setup to hold it in place (little belt loops). I used a flat dull screwdriver to make sure it was up tight around the knob, so we'll see how long it lasts. Thanks again for the tip!
Didn't know there was already something in place under there. If that one eventually moves down out of place, you can always slide it back up and zip a tie underneath that to hold. Hopefully that will keep the top of the boot in place.
How do you like that shift knob? The shape looks very comfortable. There are many Momo shift knobs that I like but I'm not comfortable with the set screw design to secure the knob to the shift lever. From what I understand, there's a lot of room inside the knob between the shift lever and the knob and the only thing holding everything in place are those little screws. That's why this was invented for the Miata:

I looked into it but it appears that the threads on the Miata's shift lever are different than the threads on the S2000's lever, so we can't use that particular product. I don't think anyone makes that for the S2000 either.
Have you had any issues with the knob feeling loose?

Are you saying to glue the shift boot (which i misspelled in the last post as "book" doh!) to the shift knob using loctite??

I can't remember if there are inserts for the knob or not (to make it "fit" more perfectly) but I HAVE had issues with it coming loose if I didn't really crank down those set screws.
If the screws are nice and tight, the knob itself will not feel loose. I find the shape to be pretty comfortable, but you've got to figure out the most comfortable rotational position for your hand/arm angle and driving style. If you want to really grip it, you can, or you can shift with the tips of your fingers. I find myself mostly gripping the top part like a rounded knob, but having the rest of the bulk of the shifter there allows me to palm it and basically shift any way I like.
I wouldn't like any of the more angular shifters and the round ball-type don't do it for me, either. This one just fits well.
Good luck with it.

So do you use 303 Cleaner and Protectant on the dash, or just the protectant? Thanks!

If you need to clean the dash of built-up dirt, etc, some Castrol APC diluted 10:1 would work, followed up by some Protectant. Otherwise just a damp rag.
