FWIW I decided to try Raggtop, and I really like it. It's easy to apply, easy to remove the excess (you almost don't have to), and it leaves no extra sheen at all. The top is maybe 1/4 shade darker, but not shiny or greasy. It leaves no residue on the rear window when folded, and it doesn't run onto the windows after carwashes.
