303 top cleaner
Hey guys, I've applied the 303 top cleaner twice now. I wash the car and top, apply the cleaner to a mf towel and wipe it onto the top. I let it dry for a while and then buff the top w/ a clean towel. How can you tell you have enough on it? I'm not getting any beading on my top when it rains. Thanks for the help.
I've noticed comments on the forum referring to using the 303 cleaner, and the RaggTopp protectant. I see that RaggTopp also makes a cleaner. Is 303 considered better, or are they of comparable quality, with the 303 just costing less? Lastly, is the 303 good for interior vinyl (dash) as well?
Thanks,
Phil

they both make different products...
when you see 303 or raggtopp in this forum, it is usally the protectants-
regular car shampoo and a brush is a good combo for cleaning-
and yes, the 303 protectant is good on vinyl and also rubber (such as tires)
the 3 fav vinyl products here seem to be 303, raggtopp, and vinylex

I noticed you mentioned the cleaner, and water not beading on your top. It's the protectant that will cause water to bead, not the cleaner. The cleaner does just that, cleans.
I also noticed you use a MF towel to apply your product. I would assume that more product will be absorbed by your towel than your top and thus, wasted. I use a simple cotton hand rag to apply mine. I could be wrong.
I just used Raggtop (and Zaino) on my interior. Since I switched to 303 for the top I have leftovers. Unfortunately it's been rainy the whole week so I haven't had a chance to see it in the sun. I expect there will be a noticeable difference, considering the interior hadn't been properly detailed since I bought the car almost 2 years ago.

My mistake, I meant to say protectant. I shouldn't use an mf towel to apply the 303?
cotton is fine, but it can lint the top...

Go with the foam applicator, spray it a few times and start to apply. Just keep the foam applicator and re-use only for applying the 303. I usually apply it once... let it dry for about 10-20 minutes, then I go back and add a second layer. If you miss a spot, you will def notice it the next day, so that's why I always put on a second layer just in case.
