3M Finish
Just to keep it accurate & fair from a corporate standpoint, 3M has not officially made claims of any kind regarding the durability of the product (save "long-lasting"). 3M is very conservative w/ their language on all of their products, because they realize that "your mileage may vary" for almost every one of their 60,000 products.
The 9-12 month time frame that I've brought up was based on the experience of those who have used the product to date; and isn't really 3M talking.
I will be testing this product out this weekend and will try to give an unbiased opinion.

Samples should be available relatively soon in Napa and Autozone stores, among others...depending on where you live. I don't work in Automotive so I don't know their exact plans for rollout.
I couldn't help myself and applied some to the hood of my s this evening. I applied it w/ a cotton cloth slightly dampened (contrary to directions, but in line w/ the advice given to me), and removed w/ a 3M microfiber detailing cloth (also part of this new product line). Here's what I learned:
- it goes on easy. It's a liquid, similar consistency to most liquid waxes. It spreads very nicely and there is plenty of "work time" before it starts to haze.
- it dries to a very light haze, but remains slightly tacky, it doesn't really "dry out" (not that I expected it to).
- it removes quickly and cleanly using the microfiber. I have to stress the quality of the microfiber, it is one of the softest ones I've seen and did a geat job on my glasses. 3M makes about a million microfiber products, so this is no surprise.
-the shine was quite nice. Being the first "wax" job on my 10-day old s, I don't nkow what the paint looks like w/ other products. But you can see the leaves on the trees in the reflection, and details in your face from overhead.
-it's pretty slick to the touch. I wouldn't say it is absolutely the slickest thing I've ever felt, but I may put a 2nd coat on this weekend when I do the whole car and then we'll see.
Overall I'm going to say this is a quality product and worth a try. Of course, the kicker is how long it lasts. I applied some to 1/2 of the hood of my wife's beater, which is treated pretty much as bad as you can treat an automobile finish (the other half has no wax or any other product on it). It's in the weather 24-7 in Minnesota, and gets washed once a year if it is lucky. While this won't test the durability w/ chemical cleaners and repeated washes, it will definitely test its ability to withstand the elements.
I'd post pictures of the hood, but I just moved here and the digital camera hasn't made its appearance yet.

Sounds good, I have been happy with just about every MMM product I have ever used, enough to include a fair bit in my portfolio. I'll do a comparo with some of my high end stuff (pinnacle, zaino, etc.)
