Default Another PC Product question?

Hey guys I know there are a million questions on here about Porter Cables but please bear with me.

I'm going to order a PC with edge pad kit and the stage 1-3 of Poor Boy products.

My question is after the abrasive products what should apply to fit my needs. My cars are daily driven and sit outside. So the final product needs to be durable and preferably last a while?

Also can you apply hard/paste wax with the PB or only the liquids. The pastes just seem to last longer but are a trade off to glossiness.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to order probably tomorrow.

Matt

either a paste or liquid carnauba can be used over synthetics, or even all alone.
the longest protection is synthetic topped by wax...
at least a couple of coats of synthetic with one coat of wax.
then you can just rewax every few weeks- the wax will protect the synthetic which protects your car!!
(and a great shine too)

dont forget to cover those cars that are outside! and if you can rent a garage, thats the best.

I would love to be able to cover my cars but circumstances prevent it.

When you say synthetics can you give me an example of what you are talking about?
some synthetics (also called sealants) used around here (others can add more):

zaino, finish first, klasse, and then there are some lines that include sealants such as wolfgang, pinnacle, etc.

i think that poorboys makes a synthetic with carnauba in it...

Klasse, Wolfgang, and Zaino would be examples of synthetic sealants.

P21S/S100, Meguiar's #26, Pinnacle Souveran, and Poorboy's Natty's Paste Wax are examples of carnauba waxes.

So to recap 1st go over the car with the scratch remover w/ PC. Then apply the synthetic product, with PC? Then the wax such as Mequiar's NXT.

What does the synthetic do?

Poorboy's also makes EX-P which is a pure sealant.

Also, as a side note, I think you're wasting your money by buying SSR1-3. I really doubt you'll need all of them.

SSR1 - you'll definitely need a finishing polish so get this one.
SSR2 - I don't think you'll need it TBH. I'd rather have SSR2.5 which has more bite in case you need it.
SSR2.5 - definitely buy this one. If your car hasn't been polished in the last couple of years you'll probably need this to remove the swirls.
SSR3 - From what I've read this polish doesn't work well with a PC. Plus, it's likely more abrasive than what you'll need. Even on a beat up car I could remove most of the defects with SSR2.5 and a yellow pad.

Also, I think reading through the "how to" sticky at the top of the forum will answer a lot of the questions you have about detailing.

Ok,

So I'll go with the SSR1 and 2.5, and the EX-P.

Thanks for the info.
