anything to get the bugs off?

I have had this same problem, and FINALLY found the solution. Any bug n tar product I have tried was about as helpful as elbow grease. I searched and actually found something that works, after all these years of scrubbing:

BOUNCE DRYER SHEETS!!!

Simply unreal how well it worked. Wet it down first and the wet bounce sheet makes a soapy solution and the texture of it wipes them right off. I will never buy "bug remover" again.

NOTE: I have no idea what is in these dryer sheets, or if there is a risk of damage to your paint or anything like that. It didn't seem to hurt mine, but she ain't exactly a show car

The key is to let them soak. I foam the front of my car and then wash the rest of the car making sure to keep the front wet. By time I come around to do the front they usually come off with my mitt.
I always leave it until the end as well.
