Default Best Carnuba?

OK! After 1 month of ownership and one coat of NXT, and several ICE detailings, and with a beautiful weekend coming up ; what do you guys think is a good carnuba to use after gold class?

I think in order to give you some good recommendations some more information is needed.

1. What kind of shape is the paint in (pictures would be great)?
2. Have you polished the car or intend to polish the care?
3. Do you own a buffer?
4. Are you more concerned with durability or looks?
5. What is your budget? Wax can range from $5 to $10,000.
6. Are you willing to order on-line or do you insist on locally purchased products?

i agree with mikeyc- your question could be much bigger than you even know (synthetic vs. carnuba, for example).

but my literal answer to the question of what my fav carnuba is would be p21s... very easy on and off, minimal dust, great shine, and i love to use it over just about anything else!

S100/p21s is great all around.
Carnauba Moose from Clearkote
Pinnacle Souveran is awesome if you can spend $70
Meg's #16 if you can find it.
Zymol Vintage if you have and extra $1850 laying around.

If you've got the cash, go for the ultimate carnauba--Pinnacle Souveran

1. The paint has been fairly well been taken care of...I dont have any up close pics right now, I'll share some later.

2. I haven't intended polishing...should I? or is it just optional?

3. No, I don't.

4. Of course I'm concerned about durability and looks, that's why I frequent the Wash and Wax section

5. My budget is normal range, I am not spending 50+ bucks for a wax, I just think that's absolutely retarded.

6. I like shopping for detailing equipment in person, and I don't have the patience to wait, a good weekend is somewhat hard to come by in the Spring months.

*My s2k is my daily driver, and I don't have a car port or garage *
Polishing the car is optional (I guess). However, if you want to remove any surface defects such as scratches or cob webbing you'll need to polish. If you're not going to invest in a buffer which will make polishing MUCH easier then I HIGHLY recommend you invest in a tube of Meguiar's Scratch-X. Scratch-X is one of the most effective hand polishes I've used. OK. So, on to Carnauba . . .

Your decision to buy your stuff locally REALLY limits your options. It's not easy to find a lot of detailing chemicals locally. So, I'm going to recommend two waxes that you could likely find locally. The first is S100. S100 is more of a "beauty" wax and will only last for a month or two. So, you'll need to re-apply it every 4-6 weeks. However, it will give your paint a nice wet look. You can usually find S100 in your local motorcycle shop. Second choice is Collonite 845. The 845 is much more durable and will probably last twice as long as the S100, but won't look quite as nice. You can usually find Collonite in boating supply stores and some Auto Zones. Both waxes are I believe less than $20. Now that I'm thinking about it, you may also want to consider Meguiar's #26. It's more durable than S100, but better looking than 845.
