I use Mother's car wash and a wool mit.

Meguiar's Gold Class, two buckets (soap and rinse) and two mitts (one for the top and tires and the other wool mitt for the finish). Keep it well waxed/polished and sheet the water off of the finish.

I'll take it a step further, Griots car wash, 2 microfiber mits, and two 5 gallon buckets. One bucket with the soapy water the other with plain water. Rinse off mits in plain water each and every time before you plunge them back into the soap bucket. You will be amazed at what you find at the bottom of the water bucket upon completion of the job.

i have used several different cleaners and have not found one that i did not like-
a good cleaner will slow the dry time of the water to keep it from spotting on your car and will contain some oil (to protect the car and help dirt slide off of the car while washing and to reduce washing swirls), will have good "sheeting action" to help drying,
and will restore the gloss finish of the car.
imo, go for a high quality cleaner with the above characteristics-

Boiler,

Check your PMs. I don't want the moderators to think we're off the wash and wax subject.
