Not sure what products I should use. I have a black 2008 Civic and it's got really bad swirls. I've got a PC7424. There seems to be a lot of polishes, sealants, waxes, swirl removers, etc to choose from so I get kinda lost looking through them all. Any advice on what products I should use and what order would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

sure thing you can use the New Meg's DA Microfiber System.

This is a 2 step process with a compound and polish that was designed to be used with microfiber cutting and finishing pads.

This system has been designed around machines like the porter cable.

This should be a great way to fix it all up.

Here is the D300 in use on a Jet Black BMW M3

Oooh, that does look good. So doing some research it looks like I'd need like a swirl remover, a polish then a good wax/sealant and tons of microfiber towels.

Step one: Buy a porter cable.

Detailer's Domain has some "kits" available that will cover most of what you need for under $300. Just don't forget a good clay bar and some lube.

Shoooot, step 1 is done. I'm onto step 2. Assemble the products!

I need to try the megs stuff on my Berlina. My usually Menzerna combo just fights me all the way. Worked great on Silverstone but sucks on Berlina.

Steve,

I found a pretty good combo for our Berlinas. Any DA polisher (speed 4 on my Megs G110v2), 5" backing plate, 5.5" green lake country CCS pad, Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. Since our paint is so delicate, it does a great job of defect correction (albeit not 100%) and leaves great gloss and clarity. Moderate pressure followed up by very light pressure for the finishing passes. I gave M205 a go, which is supposed to be very good, but it just dusts like crazy. Ultimate Polish has more polishing oils than M205 and is so easy to use. Follow it up with whatever sealant/wax you want.

This same thing can probably be used for OP's Civic. I had a 2009 crystal black pearl Si and the paint was just as delicate as our S2K's.

I ended up using some 3M stuff that required me to do a two step process but it did work well. Just took longer than I wish it would have.

really depends on how severe the swirls are, but from what it sounds like you might have good results using meguiars m105 for the first couple of passes and then following it up with m205 and if you want to go a notch further look into a jeweling polish. once your happy with the results apply a sealant and then wax if desired.
