Default Black Car HelP!!

Picked up my blk on blk Saturday. When I got it home and looked at the hood there were all these spider web like scratches on the hood. Did the dealer screw up or do all blk cars show this. How do I fix it?

Sorry to hear about the scratches on your hood . The finish on my black S2000 was nearly perfect when I picked it up! Take it back to the dealership RIGHT AWAY and tell them that the scratches are unacceptable for a $33000 NEW car and insist THEY take care of it...whatever it takes!!!

I had the same problem, but the scratches weren't really that noticeable. i.e. it took me 3 days to notice them at all, so I just kinda forgot about it. 2 coats of Zaino Z5 and 2 more of Z2 and you can barely tell. I didn't want to bring it back to Houston.

That's for sure...black is a pain in the butt, but it is truly gorgeous when it's freshly polished, waxed and clean. But I doubt I will buy another black car!

Thanks for the replies. I guess they aren't that noticeable and I may be a little anal about the whole thing.

well black was my first choice. I definetely wanted to get black w/red. But I was warned by soooo many people not to get black (esp. here with our water shortage conditions) that I was like fine. I now have my sebring and am very happy it. There was a black one in front of me today while I was driving in the rain and I still think it's beautiful, except I was thinking how much work it takes to keep it clean when the rain stops.

s2kdds- from a black car owner (i own two black cars)-
i suggest 3m scratch & swirl remover for your spider web scratches...
as i have posted before, i have used this on my daughter's 1993 black car- from a 1993 old car finish to showroom new from the 3m. got rid of all spider webs, swirls and other small scratches on her car. i applied by porter cable and removed by hand.
i dont have any scratches or swirls on my s car, but i use the porter cable to apply zaino.

Thanks guys for all the help. I guess I'm off to Lowe's for the porter cable and then to get the 3M swirl remover.

I got a black/red and got the same problem. I have bought 200$ if zaino product and cant wait to use them on my car. It should remove all the swirl on my car. Maybe you should consider buying these product insted of "3m scratch & swirl remover ". Correct me if im wrong, but i think this product is abrasive, wich is not good for paint.
