Black Leather Steering Wheel Issues
I have an 05 s2000. I have noticed when it has been sitting in the sun with the top up I get brownish stains on my pants. It happens when I get in and out of the car and my legs rub against the wheel.
Has anyone else had this issue? It has ruined a good pair of pants of mine. I was able to get it out of another pair.
Is this some type of coating from the dealer? I have not used any cleaner or conditioner on the interior yet.
I was told to condition the seats with Lexol because they will dry out.
Any input solutions would be great.
Thanks
Mark

check the thread in my signature, it will give you a lot on the basics of leather care...
as for your steering wheel, trying cleaning and conditioning it properly and hopefully it will go away, if not, then it will need to be topcoated to seal in the black color, the dealer should pay for this, just make sure they use a good leather guy, if you are curious if the guy they use is any good, let me know who it is and I can probably tell you.
Best of luck with your '05

very strange... and the first i have heard of this with our steering wheels.
i think i would ask your dealer if i were you- they should fix this under warranty.
sean is our leather expert, so his tips (last post above) and the link should be explored first...
