Josh, I see you've decided to get the PC 7424. May I suggest that you seriously consider instead the new PC 7424XP. It's a more powerful machine and will make your work easier and more effective. The new Griot's polisher has also been getting some very good reviews. Mike Phillip's recently gave it his thumbs-up over at the AutoGeek site.

I'm afraid I can't help you on the Menzerna polishes. If you are interested in the Meguiar's line of polishes, check out this brief article. I am particularly fond of Ultimate Compound and M205. Both are easy to work with. The nice thing about the non-diminishing abrasive polishes is that one does not need to break down the abrasives. You work the polish until the defects are removed and then you stop.

 

yea i'm gonna go with the xp I just didnt type that b/c I didnt know thier was a base model. My dads friend just got the griots polisher and polishes and compounds and said that If I buy my own polishes I can use his but if the pc 7424 is better then I'll get it. I dont know how good the compounds from griots are compared to menzerna though. If they are about the same I'll go buy the griots.

if I can use 5.5 inch pads on his buffer. He has 2 pads a griots red and orange. Ones for polishing and ones for wax. Although both are 6" should I just use his polishing pad with 105 then clean it and use it for 205 or should I get these pads. ones a light cutting and ones a finishing.

Also should I get some Zaino or pinnacle. If you say zaino could you tell me what to get? I see a z2 on the site but no z1

I prefer (at least I think I prefer) carnauba waxes on my berlina black. You might try, e.g., Lusso Oro, which is sold by our sponsor. If you are going to order through AutoGeek, you might try MaxWax or Pinnacle Souveran.

If you want to try a synthetic sealant, consider Blackfire Wet Diamond, Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection, or Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.

And for a winter wax, pick up a bottle of Collinite 845.

I don't know. Some people think it is. Only one way to find out.

I do think that Souveran is way over-priced, and I would only buy it when AG offers it at BOGO, which usually happens sometime between Thanksgiving and Xmas. It is one of my favorite waxes on my berlina black Stewie.

Lusso Oro is a fine wax at a good price. It's well worth adding to your collection.
