I was just at Costco and bought a California car duster for $11.99. It came with the full size duster and a mini-duster. Just wanted to let everyone know about it.

Hate to burst your bubble but I saw them at Wal-Mart today for $9.99--their everyday price.

I paid $20 bucks for one with a WOOD handle vs. the PLASTIC handle on the standard model. Works no better but I guess it's part of being a car FANATIC!

Thanks S2000 Driver. Unfortunately, there isn't a Wal-Mart close to me. By the way, I got a carrying case too. Maybe that'll make up for the $2.00 difference (lol).

The wood handle probably looks much better than my plastic handle.

There are so many manufacturers of the California Car Duster that you can't tell which is the real thing anymore. I think the original was impregnated with some "good stuff" which helped attract the dust. (I remember the instructions on the original duster said you should never wash it.) Now, you get all kinds, and I'm sure most are just "dusters" without any additives in the actual material. Probably the best choice would be to pay a little extra and get one from a site that sells car cleaning accessories.

Hey 1Y2KS2K,

My packaging says it's the "Original" California Car Duster. I'll bring it to the meet on Sat. so you can check it out and tell me if it's the same one you have.

Is that "Original" as in Unusal, Imaginative, Novel? or "Original" as in First, Initial, Earliest?

The neighbors at Wanabe's will probably think we're a group of "fairies" when they see us comparing dusters and cleaning supplies!

It's paraffin wax.

I'm sure the carrying case has a retail value of AT LEAST $5.99!

HD,
You got the real thing, Wal Mart only sells the Original CD and it's at a great price. 9.99 here in MI. I guess when you buy 10s of thousands they cut you a deal. So RELAX, let it air out for 48 hrs and then go dust your car. The first few times it may streak a little if you have a heavy hand so take a spray bottle of distilled h2o and a miracle cloth and that'll take care of that.
