California Car Duster and Zaino?
Hi, all. I've seen a number of posts on her lauding the California Car Duster, which seems like an easy way to keep the car looking good between washes.
Couple questions, though: First, won't pushing dust around scratch the finish?
And second, since the CCD contains wax to help it "dust," is it fully compatible with Zaino?
Would you have to do a pre-wash with Dawn to get the wax off before doing a regular Zaino wash and adding more Z-2?
My Zaino rep suggested detailing with Z-7 and a rag rather than mess with anything else. But that's a lot of work (WHINE!)

I have been using the Cal duster. I have yet to wash it. Since it pulls the dust into the duster, it is great.
I only use the Cal duster when I only have dust on the car, if there is anything other then that I use Z-6. Also stripping the wax is not a problem, I just wash it and then Z2 it. This is a non issue.

You must "cure" a new C. Duster before its first use. If you don't, it will leave waxy streaks on the paint. Follow the instructions that come with it. Once cured, it will not leave any of its waxy stuff on the car. It is this waxy stuff that prevents the duster from scratching the car. Just make sure you don't use pressure on the duster but only the equivalent of its own weight to do the dusting. Remember, the dirtier the duster gets, the better it works. Just shake it real good before and after each use.
