Well... for me some anti swirl mark wax and followed by protectants works fine... but this won't get rid of them, only mask them. What pisses me off is that I think most of the swirls on my car were put on their by idiot detailers at honda dealerships... They really do a half ass job...

To really get rid of the marks (and many others will follow up with this) you will need a solution that basically takes off a bit of the clear coat... 3M makes one, but I don't know the names off the top of my head.

If you scroll down a bit and search around there are plenty of posts for removing swirlmarks.

z5 will only "hide" them , I remove swirls with my Porter Cable and 3M SMR (swirl mark remover) or if really bad, 3M Fine Compound works really good as well..

<http://www.properautocare.com> is a good read

just my $.02

I use a Porter Cable 7424 which was purchased from Costal Tools for $119.00.

If you have Lowes close by, they sell the Porter Cable 7336 for around $109.00 !

I have an older black Honda Accord and used the Porter Cable to remove the swirl marks caused by years of using cotton towels. I also used the orange pad with the 3M swirl remover dark colors, which are listed below.
And then Meguiar's No. 34 Final Inspection detailing spray along with several MF towels to remove the 3m product from the car. When finished the car had wet looking, glass like smooth finish. I was very happy with the results.

I've tried about 10 different Microfiber towels over the past 3 years. The ones I like the best are from Pakshak. They are a 70/30 blend and a great value for the price !

It depends on the depth and severity of the swirls and scratches. You can only hide so much with a product like Zaino Z5, Klass AIO (All In One) or ClearKote's VM (Vanilla Moose) but you always want to start there.

Every two years or so it's time to break out the PC (Porter Cable). Depending on the problem I like 3M SMR (Swirl Mark Remover) or Meg's DACP (Dual Action Cleaner Polish). These two products usually handle the heavier stuff.

They lost my business because of it. I won't even go there for a free oil change. I'd much rather pay someone who will respect my car than take to the Honda dealership for free so they can swirl it even more.
