Default Can these be removed?

I got some craftsqaure style mirrors that i'm trying to make bases for to fit my car but as I was affraid of, the stock mirrors left a ring around the door. It almosts feels like another layer of clear on it. Any ideas/ways for me to remove this or would it be better to take it to a body shop or detailer?

Thanks for any help and advice

ray-

i would try the following (after washing the area):

1. clay

if clay doesnt get it

2. a light polish- like a swirl remover

you might also try wd-40 or a tar remover, but i would do the above first...

i'll try that...what kind of clay do you recommend and do you think they would have it at any local auto store or does it need to be ordered?

also, i dont think its anything sticky or some type of glue...it feels like a layer of clear was sprayed and you can feel the difference when you run your fingers on it.

i'm new to detailing products so please bear with me

I'm interested to but I figure that a bodyshop would be the best solution seeing that the marks on there are very deep. I'd tried claying/polishing/waxing but that didn't seen to work, I'm stuck with it now but it doesn't seen to bother me that often anymore.
