car museum
Today I went down to the LeMay Museum today as they were having a car show and auction. And what do I do? I find myself taking pictures of the quality of the paint. haha.
There were lots of cars there, and I'm working on getting the rest of the pics done. But I wanted to share these with my fellow wackos.
I gotta tell you, I was really surprised at the condition of these cars. I almost wanted to just tell them that i'll come in and clean them all up for them.
Here's more information about the museum if you're interested. In 1997, they were recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the worlds largest private collection. I don't think they are anymore. But here's their site.

Here's the gallery for the rest of the pics if you're interested. I'll be getting more added.
Here's the first car. Lots of swirls. And not like I've seen before. They were all broken up.
Second. This one wasn't too bad.
Third. This one wasn't too bad either. Just had some swirls.
Last one. Another black Chevy with some pretty heavy oxidation on the hood and the surrounding chrome.

good post...
you are right on- the condition of paint in car museums is all over the board, and more often its like you found than not it seems to me.
the folks who run the museum have to know something about paint care and they also have to care about the paint for it to be properly taken care of!! i think its usually the smaller private museums that have better paint.
